Meet Victoria
I co-founded Resilient Roots with a simple but powerful belief: no family should have to face the care system feeling lost, overwhelmed, or alone.
When an ageing parent begins to need more support, families are often expected to make complex decisions quickly—at a time when emotions are already running high. Understanding care options, funding, services, and next steps can feel confusing and overwhelming.
Resilient Roots exists to make that journey easier.
For more than 18 years, I have worked with charities, social enterprises, founders, public sector organisations, and mission-driven businesses to turn complex challenges into practical, sustainable solutions.
Across every role, one theme has remained consistent: helping people move from uncertainty to clarity.
Whether supporting organisations to build impactful services or helping individuals navigate difficult decisions, my focus has always been on creating confidence, structure, and meaningful outcomes.
I believe care is not only a personal issue—it is often a system issue.
Families can find themselves navigating a fragmented landscape of providers, funding arrangements, assessments, and support services, often with little guidance about where to start or who to trust.
At the same time, many adult children are balancing:
Careers and professional responsibilities
Raising their own families
Financial pressures
Long-distance caregiving
Complex family dynamics
The emotional weight of wanting to do the right thing
It’s a lot to carry alone.
I bring the strategic, operational, and partnership expertise needed to ensure Resilient Roots is more than a well-intentioned idea.
My role is to build a service that is:
Thoughtfully structured
Trusted and credible
Sustainable for the long term
Easy for families to access
Focused on practical outcomes
By working closely with trusted partners and listening carefully to each family’s unique circumstances, I help people understand their options and take their next steps with confidence.
I understand that families don’t need more noise, more paperwork, or more uncertainty.
They need clear information, trusted guidance, and compassionate support from people who understand both the emotional and practical realities of care.
That’s what Resilient Roots is here to provide.
And that’s the foundation I’m helping to build—so that families can move forward with greater clarity, confidence, and peace of mind.
Meet Jody
For more than 20 years, I’ve worked across local authorities, health services, and public sector organisations, helping to redesign services, improve systems, and make support work better for the people who rely on it.
Throughout my career, I understood social care from the inside. I knew the processes, the policies, and the challenges professionals faced every day.
Then, in 2019, everything changed.
When my dad’s health began to deteriorate, I suddenly found myself on the other side of the system I’d spent decades working within. Overnight, I became more than a daughter — I became his advocate, coordinator, and support person.
I was navigating social care assessments, care reviews, occupational therapy referrals, hospital discharges, and endless conversations between different services. Despite my professional experience, I often felt overwhelmed.
What surprised me most wasn’t just how complex the system could be — it was how emotionally exhausting it was.
I spent countless hours chasing updates, trying to understand eligibility criteria, coordinating professionals, and worrying whether my dad was getting the right support at the right time. If I found it difficult with years of experience behind me, how much harder must it be for families with no knowledge of the system at all?
That experience transformed the way I think about care.
It reinforced something I had always believed: support should feel human, connected, and easy to access. People shouldn’t have to fight their way through complicated systems during some of the most difficult moments of their lives.
That belief became the foundation for Resilient Roots.
Together with Shani and Victoria, we’re building something shaped by both professional expertise and lived experience. Between us, we understand what it feels like to support someone you love while trying to navigate complex services and make the right decisions.
Resilient Roots exists to bridge the gap between people and systems — providing compassionate, practical, and joined-up support that puts individuals and families at the centre of everything we do.
Because when life becomes challenging, finding help shouldn’t be another challenge.
