Become a Trusted Partner of Resilient Roots
Finding someone reliable to work in your home can be stressful, particularly for older people and those who may be vulnerable or living with additional support needs.
We're building a network of trusted local tradespeople and service providers who share our commitment to a safe, respectful and dependable service. If that sounds like you, we'd love to hear from you.
When life gets complicated, we've got you.
Helping people find reliable, trusted tradespeople
Registering your interest is the first step. We'll ask for some basic details about your business, the services you offer and the areas you cover.
Before anyone joins our referral network, we check that they meet our safeguarding, insurance and professional standards. It's how we make sure the people we support can feel confident about who comes through their door.
What we're looking for
We'd like to hear from reputable, established businesses and independent tradespeople whose services help people stay safe, comfortable and independent in their own homes.
- Plumbers, electricians and heating engineers
- Hairdressers and manicurists
- Gardeners and grounds maintenance services
- Handypersons, builders and home adaptation specialists
- Cleaners, house clearance specialists and property services
What we value
- Good communication
- Reliability
- Transparency
- A considerate approach to working in people's homes
Our requirements for Trusted Partners
Many of the people we support are older, vulnerable or have additional support needs, so we take safeguarding seriously. Every prospective partner must be able to show that they meet the standards below.
Safeguarding and DBS checks
- Take appropriate steps to make sure anyone you send into a client's home is suitable, trustworthy and understands the importance of safeguarding.
- Where the nature of the work makes a DBS check legally available or required, hold the right level of check for the role and provide evidence when asked.
- Never claim to hold, or apply for, an Enhanced DBS check that the role is not eligible for. We may ask for a Basic DBS check where appropriate.
- Tell us promptly about any safeguarding concern, allegation or change in circumstances that could affect your suitability to work with our clients.
Good to know: DBS eligibility depends on the duties actually carried out, not simply on entering a vulnerable person's home.
Insurance and professional standards
- Hold valid public liability insurance at a level suited to the nature and risks of your work.
- Hold employers' liability insurance where legally required, plus any professional indemnity or specialist cover relevant to your services.
- Provide current insurance certificates and tell us about any exclusions or restrictions that could affect the work you carry out.
- Make sure you, and anyone working on your behalf, hold the qualifications, licences, registrations and competencies your services require.
Reliability, conduct and communication
- Treat every client with dignity, respect and courtesy, respecting their home, privacy, independence and personal circumstances.
- Give clear, accurate quotations and explain any additional charges before carrying out extra work.
- Communicate professionally, arrive at the agreed time (or give reasonable notice of any delay) and leave the property safe and secure.
- Comply with all applicable health and safety, consumer protection and data protection requirements.
Ongoing verification
- Tell us about any change to your insurance, qualifications, business details or safeguarding status.
- Provide updated documents or further information whenever we ask.
- We may suspend or remove a partner from the network if they no longer meet our requirements, or if concerns arise about their conduct or suitability.
How our referral scheme works
- 1
Register your interest
Complete our online form with your business details, the services you provide and the areas you cover.
- 2
Verification
We review your application and may ask for supporting documents, references and evidence of insurance, qualifications and any relevant DBS checks.
- 3
Joining the network
If accepted, your business may be added to our Trusted Partner Network and considered when a client asks us for a suitable local provider.
- 4
Client-led contact
When we find a possible match, we share your details with the client only where appropriate and with their agreement. We never contact a client on your behalf; the choice to get in touch is theirs.
- 5
Direct agreement
Quotations, appointments, payment, schedules and any ongoing arrangements are agreed directly between you and the client. You manage the work and your contract with them.
Joining our network does not guarantee referrals, work or any particular level of business. Resilient Roots does not act as your agent, employer or subcontractor, and inclusion in the network is not a guarantee of the quality of any individual job or a substitute for a client's own checks.
Responsibility and liability
Our role
Resilient Roots is an independent signposting and referral service. We introduce clients to independent tradespeople and service providers, but we do not carry out, supervise or manage the work they undertake.
Once a referral has been made, you and the client agree the scope of work, costs, timescales, terms and conditions, and any ongoing arrangements. The contract for the work is between you and the client, not Resilient Roots.
We do not accept responsibility for a provider's workmanship, conduct, contractual performance or failure to meet their obligations to the client, except where responsibility arises from our own acts or omissions or is otherwise imposed by law.
We do not guarantee the suitability, performance or continued availability of any independent provider, and we encourage clients to make their own enquiries before engaging a service.
Your responsibilities
As the provider, you are solely responsible for:
- The standard, safety and quality of the work you undertake.
- Your own employees, subcontractors and anyone else acting on your behalf.
- Obtaining any required permissions, licences and insurance.
- Any damage, loss, injury or other issue arising from your work, acts or omissions, including negligence, where you are legally responsible.
- Resolving complaints and claims about the services you have supplied.
Partner agreement and indemnity
Before you join the network, we may ask you to sign a separate Trusted Partner Agreement. This sets out your obligations to maintain appropriate insurance, meet safeguarding standards, provide accurate information and tell us about any relevant changes.
The agreement may include an indemnity covering losses, claims and costs arising from a breach of your obligations or from negligent acts or omissions, to the extent permitted by law. Any limitation or exclusion of liability is subject to applicable law, and nothing in these guidelines or any agreement with Resilient Roots excludes or restricts liability where the law does not allow it.

Please don't send DBS certificates, insurance documents or other sensitive information through this form. If we take your application forward, we'll ask you for them securely.
