Referral Scheme and how it works.

Connecting you with trusted local businesses — openly and honestly

At Resilient Roots, we know that caring for an older parent or relative can sometimes mean needing a whole range of practical help — from a reliable tradesperson or gardener to home adaptations and other services that can help someone remain safe and independent at home.

That’s why we’re building a network of trusted local businesses and professionals who may be able to help.

We want our referral scheme to be simple, transparent and completely pressure-free.

How does it work?

If a tradesperson or other trusted local business thinks that Resilient Roots could be helpful to you, they may give you our details or one of our business cards.

That’s it.

They will not give us your name, telephone number, email address or other personal information.

We will not contact you because someone has referred you to us.

If you are interested in finding out more, you contact Resilient Roots yourself. You can then arrange a free introductory conversation with us, and we can talk through your circumstances and whether our service is right for you.

There is absolutely no obligation to use our service.

Are businesses paid for referrals?

Yes — and we want to be completely open about this.

If you go on to use Resilient Roots, the business that introduced you may receive a small, one-off thank-you payment.

This does not increase the price you pay and does not affect the service or advice we provide.

The referral payment is only made once, after you have decided to go ahead, agreed the service with us and paid for it.

There is no payment simply for giving you our details, and nothing is paid where a referral does not go ahead.

No pressure. No chasing. No cold calling.

We believe that people should be given information and then be left to make their own decisions.

Our referral partners agree that they should:

  • Simply mention Resilient Roots when they genuinely think we may be able to help.

  • Leave the decision entirely with you.

  • Not pressure you into contacting us.

  • Not repeatedly approach you if you are not interested.

  • Not cold call, email or message you about Resilient Roots.

  • Not contact an older person directly unless that person has specifically asked them to.

  • Never approach someone who is experiencing an acute crisis or is newly bereaved.

  • Never use purchased contact lists or other unsolicited marketing methods to promote Resilient Roots.

Bullying, harassment, pressure or persistent unwanted contact is not acceptable to us.

If someone mentions Resilient Roots to you and you are not interested, you can simply say no. There is no expectation that you contact us.

You are always in control

A referral does not mean that you have become a Resilient Roots client.

It is simply an opportunity for you to find out whether we might be able to help.

You decide whether to contact us.
You decide whether you want to have a conversation.
You decide whether you want to use our service.

And if you don’t want to proceed, that’s completely fine.

Why do we work with referral partners?

Many families don’t know where to start when an older relative begins to need more support.

Sometimes the person who first notices that a family might need help is a tradesperson, gardener, cleaner, community worker or another trusted professional who is already visiting their home.

Rather than leaving families to work everything out themselves, our referral network means they can be given the details of somewhere they can turn to for practical guidance and support.

We don’t expect our partners to sell our services or explain what we do. Their role is simply to let you know we exist.

Transparency matters to us

We believe that referral arrangements should never be hidden.

If someone refers you to Resilient Roots and may receive a thank-you payment if you subsequently become a client, they should tell you this at the time they recommend us.

You can then decide for yourself whether you want to contact us.

Our aim is simple:

No pressure. No hidden arrangements. No unsolicited contact. Just a straightforward introduction if someone thinks we might be able to help.
